The most well-known and well-established route on Kilimanjaro is the Marangu route, which is also sometimes referred to as the “Coca-Cola” route.
This is the only route that provides sleeping cabins in a dormitory setting as an alternative to the traditional camping accommodations. The Mandara and Kibo Huts each have a total of 60 bunk beds, Although guests are provided with mattresses and pillows, they are still expected to bring their own sleeping bags. The huts contain shared dining halls and modest washrooms, with flushing toilets and running water at the lower huts and long drop toilets and buckets of water at the Kibo Hut. At the highest hut, the Kibo Hut, the bathrooms are long drop toilets.

Many people choose to ascend the mountain through the Marangu route since it is widely regarded as being the most straightforward and least difficult of all the mountain’s routes. The limited amount of time available on the journey makes acclimation to the high altitude very challenging. Mount Kilimanjaro is first seen when traveling in a southeasterly direction. Due to the fact that the ascent and descent on Marangu both follow the same path, it is sad that Marangu has a lower scenic value than the other routes. Due to this fact, it is also the route with the highest passenger volume.
