Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime! We’re jetting off to the western part of Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s crown jewels when it comes to wildlife. As soon as you touch down, we’ll whisk you away to your cozy lodge. The fun starts right away with an afternoon drive around the Grumeti River. Keep your eyes peeled for amazing animals! Back at the lodge, you’ll have time to relax with some afternoon tea before dinner. But don’t get too comfy – the night’s just beginning! After dark, we’ll head out again to experience the Serengeti’s nocturnal wonders. It’s like a whole new world out there when the sun goes down!
Day 3 is when things get really exciting. We’re ditching the vehicles and exploring the Grumeti Corridor on foot! This is your chance to get up close and personal with nature. You’ll learn all about the plants and animals that call this place home. It’s a totally different perspective from being in a car. After our walk, we’ll head back to the lodge for a late lunch and some downtime. Trust me, you’ll need it after all that adventure!
After you’ve had your fill at breakfast, you’re off to the heart of the Serengeti. Your guide knows all the best spots to catch the wildlife in action, depending on what time of year it is.
you’re hanging out by the hippo pool, watching these massive beasts lounging in the cool water. And who’s keeping them company? None other than some lazy crocs basking in the sun.
But that’s not all – you might catch a lion on the prowl, stalking its next meal. Or, if you’re lucky, you’ll witness the mind-blowing spectacle of the great wildebeest migration. Trust me, it’s something you’ve got to see to believe.
As you cruise through the Serengeti, you’ll notice the landscape changing from wide-open plains to these cool rocky outcrops called kopjes. They’re like nature’s apartment buildings, providing shelter for all sorts of critters.
This mix of landscapes isn’t just pretty to look at – it’s like hitting the jackpot for animal watching. You’ll see more wildlife than you can shake a stick at, making for some unforgettable safari moments.
Get ready to stretch your legs and soak in some serious history at the Olduvai Gorge, aka the Cradle of Mankind. This place is a big deal for understanding how our ancestors evolved – scientists have been digging up game-changing fossils here for years. But we’re not just stopping at the gorge. We’ll hoof it over to the Shifting Sand Dunes, which are pretty wild – they’re made from volcanic ash! Then we’ll check out the Ol Karien Gorge, where you might spot some Ruppel’s Griffon Vultures circling overhead. The cherry on top? Nasera Rock. This massive stone sticks out like a sore thumb, and if you’re up for a climb, you’ll be rewarded with killer views of the surrounding plains. It’s the perfect spot to munch on your packed lunch. As the day winds down, your driver will whisk you off to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. That’s where you’ll crash for the night, dreaming of all the cool stuff you saw today. On the morning of day six, you will drive for a short distance to Empakaai Crater, where you will be treated to splendid views and hopefully a glimpse of Ol Doinyo LEngai, Tanzania’s only active volcano. You will descend into the Empakaai Crater, taking approximately 30 minutes. There is superb birding around the lake and buffalo, hyena and elephant can be spotted. After 2 to 3 hours of walking in Empakaai, jump back in the car to head to Olmoti Crater for your final hike of the day. At Olmoti, a Maasai name meaning cooking pot, you will have the chance to see Maasai herders grazing their cattle and soak up views of the beautiful highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The gentle ascent takes you through mountain forest, grassland, and rocky outcrops.
Get ready for an epic day in the Ngorongoro Crater. This place is seriously cool – it’s like a natural zoo where all the animals hang out inside the crater walls. You’ll be cruising around all day, spotting wildlife left and right. Keep your eyes peeled for rhinos – they’re not shy around here. And don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a pride of lions lounging in the sun or a cheetah on the prowl. It’s wild! When lunchtime rolls around, you’ll get to munch near the hippo pond. How’s that for a picnic spot? After you’ve had your fill of crater fun, it’s time to hit the road to Tarangire National Park. Trust me, the excitement’s just getting started! This day’s gonna be packed with “pinch me” moments. Get your camera ready and prepare for some jaw-dropping sights. It’s the kind of day that’ll have you grinning from ear to ear and buzzing with stories to tell back home. Let’s do this!
Let me tell you about Tarangire – it’s this incredible place that’s basically elephant central. We’re talking thousands of these gentle giants roaming around, it’s wild! And get this – the park is dotted with these massive baobab trees that look like something out of a fairy tale.
Now, here’s the cool part: all the animals in Tarangire tend to hang out near this river. Why? Well, it’s the only reliable water source for miles around. So you’ve got this crazy mix of wildlife all converging in one spot. We’re not just talking elephants here – you’ve got lions prowling about, sneaky leopards, speedy cheetahs, the works!
Oh, and when you hit day 8 of your trip, you’ve got options. You can split your day up if you want – maybe do a morning game drive, head back to camp for a chill lunch, then hit the road again in the afternoon. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can spend the whole day out there exploring. It’s totally up to you!
Day 9 is your last chance to enjoy the beautiful wildlife of Tanzania. Again, you have a choice of activities. You may choose to have a leisurely breakfast and relax at the camp, having gone out on a late-game drive the previous night. Alternatively, after breakfast, you could head out on foot to get closer to the animals along the famous Tarangire River. Of course, if you really can’t choose, you could do both! After lunch commences your drive back to Moshi/Arusha.
Today you will be transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your flight.
